We are expanding our parking lot and creating new classrooms, as well as enlarging our worship and gathering space.
Our last expansion was designed to accommodate a church of 500 people, a number we will quickly surpass. In order to meet the needs of an even larger congregation, we must move forward on a building plan that will enable our future ministries.
We will be able to use the facility as soon as construction is complete.
The projected price for the construction is $1.3 million.
Planning and estimates up to this point have been paid through our Building Fund. The actual construction will be funded by a bank loan, which will be repaid through the Building Fund and the fruits of our capital stewardship journey.
A capital stewardship journey is a church project that seeks pledged donations from the congregation to be used in paying for a major construction project such as the one we are planning.
We should raise approximately $1.3 million, which is over 3 times our annual operating budget.
No. Everyone will have the opportunity to give as the Spirit leads them, but no one will be pressured into a commitment.
Pray this question: Lord, what would you do through me to accomplish your will in Sunnycrest UMC? Read and meditate upon Scripture passages that speak about stewardship and giving, such as: 1 Corinthians 16:2, Proverbs 11:25, Proverbs 3:5-9, 2 Corinthians 8:7, Acts 20:35, Luke 6:38, and Psalm 116:12.
You are asked to make a three-year commitment. If I can’t give a large amount, does my pledge really matter? Of course! Jesus taught that it is not the amount of a gift that matters, but instead that each person should give according to their own ability. Together, these small pledges can make a big difference!
Pledge cards will be turned in on Commitment Sunday, and pledges will begin to be received shortly thereafter.
Contributions can be made by cash or check. Other forms of contributions can include the transference of title to marketable stocks, bonds, real estate, etc.
Yes. You may update your commitment at any time.
No. God’s work is open to everyone, not only formal members of our church. All are welcome to come with us on this journey.
